... having a few miles of “making due progress” over twisty roads, hitting the lines you want, getting the gear changes just right, only approaching other traffic on straight bits so you can get past with no changes to the groove you are in, then backing off before a built up area, just before the police Volvo estate with all the gubbings on the roof comes round the corner and is going in the other direction.

When you filter down a mile and a half of traffic for the first time then realise it would have taken nearly an hour and a half to cover the same distance in a car as opposed five miutes on a bike

That was my experience o filtering for the first time ever coming up to the haudigan from bucksburn direction.
