Hmm so this is what nerves feel like!

Post by Neorion »

Alright folks,

Well start my DAS tomorrow and Eric from biketec wants me to do a 125 assesment tonight before letting me loose on the 500 tomorrow.

Not so much nervous I just dont want to f3ck up! I think I'm a pretty good car driver (I even cancel my own indicators) but I know I need to really up my game on a bike with the added risk and hazards.

And last but not least I hope its not loving freezing!

:cheers

Dont worry about silly things like the weather, you just dress appropriately. When I first started riding, I had a combination of protective gear and skiing clothing to keep me warm. Couldnt afford to just buy the lot straight away.

You will have no problems on the 125 whatsoever, as they are very learner friendly, stable and suit their intended purpose. The 500's are just a bigger version of what you will be on this evening. They are very docile and geared at people learning to ride, however they are obviously heavier. They are rather forgiving though, so if you have a bit of respect for them you wont encounter any problems.

Remember, a bike will only do what you tell it to do!! You control it, not the other way around.

Have fun, take care and you will be fine.

Keep us posted on your progress. :2up

Looks like you are going to dodge the worst of the weather :2up

Lots of people who are looking to do their bike test ask about what is involved with the direct access and bike test so post up your thoughts as well as how you get on.

I am sure that you will have a good laugh ( I know that I did during my training)
Relax, enjoy the course and good luck for your test :2up

Hey guys and gals,

SO first day over and the body does not feel too bad considering I'm using muscles that I didnt know I had! Even my clutch hand wasnt too bad, which I was worried about as I work at the computer all day and get stiff wrists sometimes.

Anyway, almost everything was fine, I did stall a couple of times which is no biggy just a momentary lapse in the brain there. My biggest bug bear was the U turn I did 2 perfect ones straight out of the bag and then must have started thinking too much and fecked a load up, got back on track but I am not consistant enough but hey its my first day right? Emergency stops are there pretty much my Instructor Ian says I could be firmer but he seems happy so far. Great guy buy the way he has 50 years riding experience and keeps his cool with you.

Sticking to my obervations looking into side roads, looking out for EVERYTHIG. haha its funny I didnt realise how many bad car drivers there are out there until you dont have a cage to protect you!

Hoping the weather holds off tomorrow it wasnt too crap just rain every so often on the visor.

Hopefully I will settle earlier and nail the U turns and I know stop thinking about them!

Will put up some more tomorrow.....

Starting at 11am so off for a shower and a beer with the Mrs Neorion :arse

Cheers!
