GSX650F is pretty bombproof. bandit with a fairing so mechanically cant go far wrong.. decent looks too.

Hi there and welcome to the site .

Have a look in the for sale section as there is a nice CBR600F (Not the sporty one) which would be a cracking bike :2up

Would make a good bike. Bit sportier than the bikes mentioned, but not OTT. But maybe not whats wanted.

Dont worry what others think of the bikes, what do YOU think of them. :confused

The only way you are going to know if the bike is right for you is to get a good long test run on them and then make up your mind.

Oh by the way welcome to the mad hoooose :2up

Bike magazine recently reviewed the Yamaha and gave it a great write-up. Said it was the best of that bunch you mentioned but i think it would be a personal thing. Which ever one you pick - it won't be rubbish.

Although i notice the faired bandit is a heavy brute compared to the others - The kwack being the lithe athlete. ;)

You know which one i'd pick (not that i'm biased)!

Enjoy the test rides! :2up

MCN had a Top Ten first big bikes in it today. I noticed the GSX650F is one insurance group lower than the GSF650 Bandit which might be enough to influence someone looking at these type of bikes

It depends on what you want to use the bike for - the bikes you have mentioned would seem to be good allrounders.

Go out, try them and see which one you prefer, there will be things about each bike that you like / dislike - and the only opinion that matters is yours.

Oh, and welcome to the site :2up

Sorry to disagree rodsquad but there's a review is in this months (Oct - for some reason) Bike magazine in which the Aprilia Shiver GT comes out top in the test followed jointly by the GSXF and Divvy with the ER6 being a last choice. That said I agree with Hagar - try them and see what's best for you. Each to their own and all that. :2up

These magazines change their minds more often than i change my underwear (reasonably regularly). In the review i read, they claimed the Divvy was a better all-round bike than the Street Triple. So go figure... :???

There is no such thing as a bad bike, just like whisky (and women), some are better than others, some are more expensive, and all cater to differing tastes

Again just like whisky (and women)...it is better to try as many as you can, but not too many on the same day.
Find what you like, get it, and by happy with your choice

Now back to bike selection...
:biggrin2

I would say the ER6-F is a def good choice for a first buy over all the other models.

Has a great riding position that wont leave you with either a sore back or sore wrists
has plenty of power as your confidence and riding ability grows and def
reliable .

Most of the models come with ABS so this will be very very forgiving if you make
any beginers mistakes.
So overall it will be far more forgiving

anywho I hope you have a happy bikee day when you pick the correct bike for you
