Rear set/Brake help

Post by stevemoid »

Hi all. Needing a bit of assistance with connecting my brake to my brake lever.

In the pic below you can see that the bit to clip onto the lever sits too low. I've tried moving it up but it does seem to be as high as it goes. Does anyone know if the bottom (clip part) can be removed? As I did get a new, shorter clip bit with the sets but after a good play around couldn't see how to get it off.

hold the U clip with a spanner and apply another spanner to the lock nut imediatly above the clip.

Once they are both lose you should be able to unscrew the old clip and replace it with the rearset clip.

If its a road bike remember to make sure brake light is functioning correctly, as the switch may need adjusting.
