Faring Protectors

Ok, I've looked in all the usual places but I can't find faring protectors for the cbr which don't require me to hack lumps out of the faring.
There are screwed holes available on the frame so someone must make a set to fit.

Anyone know where I should be looking?

I fancy the race school next Friday at Knockers but I want to take resonable precautions first.

Creations do carbon/kevlar engine armour for your model cbr.

Fit flush mount indicators as well or at least smaller ones cuse the indicators usually end up cracking the fairing no mater how softly the bike goes down ( unless you park next to a car and you can use it instead

)

Best to take indicators, number plate etc off. Firstly it's less to bust if you go down and secondly it'll not take so long to clean the track up and restart the session

The protectors that they make for your bike require fairing mods but
it may be that due to the way the fairing is designed in relation to the frame / engine mounting points that they cannot make protectors to fit without cutting the fairing (I know this is the case on 916/96/98's etc)

Thanks for the info, I'm not sure I want to hack lumps out of the fairing though.

Thanks for the info, I'm not sure I want to hack lumps out of the fairing though.

You wont your cake and eat it you do!!

The difference is cutting carefull holes in your fairing that will be covered buy the crash bungs anyway or drop it and let the ground do the work for you!?!

Remember the old saying about measure twice cut once and you shouldn't go wrong. Or just get Rustik to do it for you, he's a wiz with the old tools!!!

When I fitted the Harris shrooms I found that a nice little pencil grinder works wonders, very neat job.

Have you considered a second fairing if you dont want to hack yours?? Ard Racing do some nice ones for less than Ã‚Â£300 for pre coloured.

Bit stronger than the standard ones too..that way, you can hack holes if you want, but still have the standard stuff for road use..(U can get ones that still have the cut outs for your lights so u dont have to dissassmble the front of the bike)

Just an idea :)
