Ventura Luggage

Post by Lobsterfish »

Ok, so i'm now fed up with lugging on and off the soft panniers. Not the most friendly of things.

I've been looking at the Ventura system (save me going down the hard luggage route on the SV). Mainly because I don't want the touring look on a sportyish bike, yet don't want to have to have a rucksack on my back everytime I decide to take the bike to work.

I suppose the only set back would be the permanent L-bars, but thats better than panniers and top box no?

Your thoughts please :)
Cheers

Top boxes are for old men who commute.
I've got the Ventura stuff on the speed triple and it's well worth the cash.
I used mine for a good 1200 mile blast round Northern England and Scotland over some very bumpy roads with no issues at all. It's proved to be hassle free and you can load the bike much faster (but you still have to wait for everyone else to fit soft luggage to their bikes).

It's stable at speed and quite easy to forget about once it's on. The L brackets are only 3 bolts per side on my bike so are quite easy to remove if you want to.

There are also the Kreiga packs if you want luggage that straps to the back seat. I've got the 25 litre apck and it's to be good but not big enough for longer trips. It also moved about on bumpy roads. Good quality and waterproof though.

I've got an original Suzuki SV Topbox in Carbon (look!!!) with the mounting plate for an K6 SV. I bought it when I bought the bike 2 years ago and it has basically sat in the garage for the last year. PM me if you are interested, I guarantee it will be cheaper than the ventura!!!!!!!

I've got Ventura luggage for my bike.

As speedaddictedberk said, it's very stable and you forget that it's there. Much better than a tank bag.

Just remember to put the bag on the right way round, unlike me when I first used it! Let's just say it made it wheelie happy! :log
