A 20-year-old motorcyclist who died after a crash with a van in Aberdeen has been named.

Ellis Robb, from the city, died following the collision which happened in Balgownie Road at about 05:55.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but could not be saved. The van driver was uninjured.

The road was closed between Braehead Way and Bodachara Road while officers investigated the scene.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
