Dead TDM

Post by Wavey »

Any thoughts gratefully recieved, my TDM is playing dead, when I turn on the ignition nothing happens not even any idiot lights.

I've checked the battery and it is putting out 12.6v, the fuses are all good and I've checked the ignition switch itself for continuity as per the manual and all seems to be in order but it still refuses to show any sign of life.

It was running fine one night and then this happened the next morning.

Am I missing something really obvious?

disconnect the ignition and clean out the connectors, may be water ingress?

Have you checked the main fuse ? bigger than all the wee spade fuses for all the other stuff , usualy in a separate box and quite close to the battery :(

if you cant get it repaired, I might know someone whos is interested.

What about the side stand cut out switch ? Thought you would still get lights though

But for a battery not to put out enough current to even power the idiot lights?
Nah I'm not buying that.
Is the main fuse the first thing inline with the battery. If so then thats got to be the first check. I thought it was for the starter but could be wrong. I don't have my manual out with me this trip.
Dodgy connection or earth fault looks more likely to me. Take off the battery connections clean and refit. Still fooked then get the DVM out and start continuity checking.
