Tsubaki rivet links

Post by Grant »

Who in Aberdeen would stock spare Tsubaki rivet links or would they have to order them in?

Any rivited link for the same size of chain (ie 520) will fit , it does not have to be a Tsubaki , I would try Shirlaws or Ecossse :2up

Never heard of that make, I guess it was the cheapest?

Did you not get one with the chain? If it came with a split link, that will be OK until you get a rivet link.

Cheers Andy!

B&C Express quote 12 different 525 rivet links... I guess the difference is the colour of the link and whether it's an o-ring or an x-ring?

You've never heard of Tsubaki? I was told they were on a par with DID chains? And it wasn't that cheap! :I can't believe it's not butter!

A rivet link did come with the chain, but silly old me over tightened it! :roll

I don't understand how you overtighten a rivet link ?

Probably a good enough make, but I would only buy a manufacturer I knew. Cheap pattern parts ought to be well ............ cheap

When I was squeezing on the side plate, I think I overtightened it which made that link quite tight, possilbly damaging the x-ring.

Everything looks ok when I riveted the link, but I want to replace the rivet link just in case I have damaged it.

:eek :eek :eek Biggest manufacturer of chains in the world. ;) I remember them in my days at Shell. They made some huge ones for a machine to move the Fulmar gas pipeline along the sea bed.

Here is a link..get it..a link ;) to the website :-)
