*Embarrased smile*

Coming out the drive this morning, choke on, engine not warmed up etc etc ended up with recently acquired VFR on it's side. Whoops!

Struggled to get the bike upright on my tod and had to call for assistance.

Does anyone have tips on how to get it back up when on your own??

:cheers

John

hold bars to steady the bike and hold front brake on to stop the bike rolling away, get hip/thigh against the tank or seat (depending on bike) and push the bike upright with legs and hip/thigh just use your arms to steady the bike.

worked for me on many occation with large on and off road bikes :oops without sending me back to the chiropractor

It's the only way to do it without breaking your back!

Glad to be of service.

Agreed, i lifted a Ducati ST4 with one hand, practically flipped it in the air. I was 14/15 and decided i'd be nice and clean my old man's bike(without asking). Cracked fairing, broken mirror and one of the fairing bolts went though the battery and made a right mess. He suprised me how calm he was but i did stay out the way for a while!

i have to agree with Rossi,

adrenaline is ace, when i driopped the last VFR due to disklock being on....oh the shame :oops

I lifted the bike up without thinking, simply to to being so bloody embarassed.

Also when i slid down at westhill, Zathos picked my bike up really quickly, i didn't even thank him for that at the time! I can't believe it's not butter!

January 1st last year went to Elrick to meet Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) and others for a wee run, parked the bike, put my foot on the icy piece of tar and the bike went on it's side, jamming my left knee under the tank, scrapped the left can but got it back up by holding the front brake and a bit of adrenalin/Embarisment in case some saw what a plonker i was standing there with a blackbird on my knee........

Tin Tin,
long time, Well sunny Nigeria is just coming into the dry season, Still lots of shootings but kidnappings are down because they got the "Hausers" army down from the north and they dont F**k around, they are predominantly Muslim and there nothing better for them than coming south and killing christians.....
The miltants have theatened Shell they have seven days to employ youth from 27 villages that they trained, but they won't do it..... so they may start bombing attacks like last year or kidnapping expats again.
shooting are up at the moment but thats usual as Christmas approaches and people are more desperate/greedy..........
hope to see you after the 8th November for a wee trundle/blast..... :2up
