A few pennies available...

My bike has sat in a mouldy garage all winter, neglected... I think the chain is knackered so looking for someone to change chain/sprockets and give it a bit of a minor checkover for it's MOT. Once I change the front brake pads (even I can manage that ;) ) it should be okay. Willing to pay as it's a job I should really do myself but it's been years since I did a chain (with ALL the wrong tools too!)

While I'm on the subject, anyone got any recommendations for online places for things like chains 'n' pads?

I always use Wemoto for my parts. Reasonable prices, quick delivery and usually get a free keyring or two.

Speak to Nige at www.slatersbikes.co.uk and he will sort you out. I bought my chain, sprockets, pads and braided lines from him. Quick turn-around and good service.

Either that, or go and order one though Ecosse and keep it local. :2up

Cheers for the website recommendations. :2up

I do like to keep things local when I can - but the bike shops are way overpriced for things like parts, in my experience. Bought a battery for a friend's bike recently and locally it was £65, online £40 (for a top make)... £5 or maybe £10 I would have paid for local but thought that £25 extra on a £40 item was ridiculous.

But seeing as nobody wants to earn a few pennies with the job I might just have to put it into the shop anyway! :P
