Mixing tyres

A mate asked if it would be ok to fit a BT023 to the rear and a BT014 to the front of his 06 CBR1000RR.
Same manufacturer sticky one to the front is there a problem doing this ?
Whether the front will ever be up to temperature i don't know but he is right into track days so maybe yes.
Would they have different profiles and would the turn in go all to f*ck ?

not sure about turn in as such but allways best to have sticky on front and harder on rear, dont want the rear gripping on a corner while the front slides out , possible to catch the back but never the front.

My 2p:

It depends on what Bridgestone recommend, I know they say you can mix certain models, but it would be best to check with them to make sure it would be ok.

Thanks for the info. He decided on BT023 front and rear in the end. Seems happy with them :2up

Where did he get the BT-023 from?? Looking at maybe getting a set.

He lives in Derby so likely down there. Will ask if he got them online though and let you know.

Ive just fitted a set of BT 023's to the 848 was fitted at Craigstone tyres :2up

Try Neil at craigton tyres in pitmedden..... 07758779989 not sure if he has in stock :cheers

To be honest not really used them much yet but off to the NW200 next week so will know better after that.I will give a wee report on what i think when i return :2up
