Back on Yamaha next season good or bad move for the armchair fan ?

and who will get the ride on the Ducati that nobody apart from Stoner could get on with ?

Rossi should now get some better finishes and Crutchlow may get on the Ducati, but we will have to wait and see

At least somebody should be able to give Jorge a run for his money next year.

Good thing for the arm chair fan, but not a good thing for him.
Still failed to sort out the bike they said they could fix easy, with what seemed an endless budget compared to the mods the would spend on it for Stoner.
Not really worried if he goes back or not, i watch it for the racing, not for 1 person.

Will be a good thing for him i would suspect as he can handle the Yamaha and has proved he can win on one.As for Ducati hopefully someone will manage to ride it and give the others a good fight and maybe prove its not the bike that was the problem .I know Rossi in his day was and always will be one of the best but compared to Stoner or Lorenzo in the last few years hes pretty ordinary. Im with you on not really bothered who races what as im more interested n the actual racing itself .Looks like 2013 will be interesting as theres going to be a few changes and a good few new faces included.

It appears Rossi was spotted by Neil MacKenzie coming out of Yam hq in Holland there's a bit about it on twowheelblog

I really hope this happens and works , Vale on the M1 was a joy to watch , I'm gutted things didn't work out for him at Ducati as I think that bike is awesome , here's hoping he can get back to winning again , it clearly shows he hasn't lost the desire to win considering his age an the fact he has nothing to prove to anyone

Rossi certainly has the charisma to entertain the tifosi. I would like to see him do better, but I don't think he is as good as he once was. Whatever bike he is on, I feel he will be struggling in mid pack.

I am sorry to see Stoner quitting, can't see anyone with the skill or drive to touch Lorenzo next year.

My only concern about the doc returning to yam is of he under performs. Just now he can blame the duc left right and pooper but if he steps on the yam and has trouble it'll be curtains for his racing career!

I don't think that his career will be over, every rider gets to that point that they were never as good as they once were, Just look at Edwards, great rider, but spends a lot of time mid-pack and never going to be the champ, but he's still getting contracts...

I'm very interested to see how he's going to get on this year...

It is with great pleasure that Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd confirms the signing of Valentino Rossi to ride for the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team for 2013 and 2014.

Valentino Rossi first joined Yamaha in 2004 and achieved four MotoGP World Champion titles with the Yamaha YZR-M1 in 2004 and 2005 and again in 2008 and 2009. He won 46 Grand Prix races with Yamaha over a 7 year period before leaving at the end of the 2010 MotoGP season.

Rossi, who is presently 8th in the Championship standings, will partner Jorge Lorenzo who currently leads the 2012 MotoGP World Championship by 23 points, having taken five victories from the first ten completed races of the 18 race series.

Stoner is 100% right to gloat.
Plenty gloating done about fixing the bike.
Just shows how good Stoner was on the Ducati.

have heard a rumour that Stoner has said to Yamaha he will postpone his retirement and ride for tech3 Yamaha if he can get a full factory bike to the same standard and sopport as Rossi and Lorenzo

He said he was retiring to spend time with his family, besides if he stays racing I think his Mrs might has something to say

Pffft! Stoner is a whiney bitch! He always has been! if the bike was THAT good, then he would never have left to go to Honda...

Rossi left the best bike on the grid to go to Ducati.

Also a good point, and he improved it, just not well enough to do something with it though...

I guess there has to come a point where you realise that theres no point in flogging a dead horse, and you have to think about your career. if he was there trying to make more changes than Ducati wanted to make, and that was impacting your career, why prolong the damage...

Also, one could also argue that the M1 was only the best bike on the grid because of his input when he moved from Honda...

dont forget when he moved from honda to Yamaha that Yamaha did effectively open the cheque book, sign the name and say whatever you need done will be done.

never seemed to be any limit to their ambition to win from honda, unlike you can argue Ducati who think they have paid enough for rossi, why do they need an open amount to develop the bike

I've grown to hate Ducati Corse over the years, for the childish rants and the constant need to have it their own way (perhaps that's why Stoner got on so well with them)... back when they were dominating SBK and they were ranting any time they 'Danger' Powers that be tried to level the field a bit, and all Ducati would cry about was that they had to spend so much more than the inline boys, boo hoo!

if it wasn't massively profitable, they wouldn't be doing it...
