Driveways

Post by huffanpuff »

Anyone know of a decent company/guy who can do a driveway, approx 80m2, looking for either tar or imprinted concrete, any recommendations? Or anyone to avoid too? :2up

Friend of mine thought he had a great deal from some pikeys. Lasted about 6 months before the weeds came through and had to be dug up and redone.

JR Donald & Son, Inverurie
They're not the cheapest, but they really are good - turn up on time and are very tidy and professional. I'd use them again anytime.

Unless they are pikey scum they will all charge vat, cos that's the law ;)

If u find someone who will do you a deal on vat, they will rip you off on the job as well.

I'm getting work done by agc and they are a good bunch.

I could point you towards a mate of mine who may accept flexible payment options, he does a good job but he's not the most reliable at turning up when he says he will.

i have a single drive just now which will be getting replaced with a double drive and new drain gutters at the botom of the drive! I think its about 44m2 roughly? 3 quotes have ranged from £3200 to £5500 inc vat!

If you're doing building work, laying driveways or whatever, your turnover's going to be too high to stay below the VAT threshold.

If you are buying in a lot of materials then it makes no sense not to be VAT registered even if you are under the flat rate VAT Scheme.

Even if you buy very little materials, it can be beneficial to register for the flat rate VAT scheme.
