Adding a power socket

Post by Coully »

Considering doing this, but don't really like messing about with electrics if i don't have to, looked at ebay and they all seem cheap/simple enough to attempt by myself (that and i'd rather not have to book it in anywhere for such a potentially wee job).
is it easy enough?, has anyone done it?

What do you plan to plug into it?

I prefer to properly wire in the item I wish to power on the bike. However, if you do wish to go the socket route then there is a selection here - http://www.windingroads.co.uk/shop/sect ... ccessories

cheers Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian), think I'd go down the socket route for flexibility.

The down sides to the socket route is you have to find somewhere to mount the socket in the first place then you have to somehow secure the lead of what ever you plug into it each time you use that piece of kit.

aye, if i could get it near the bars, but then its being finnicky with a cable under the fuel tank etc....i might just be making more work for myself, I certainly don't want to be boring any holes in bits of plastic...more just out of laziness, then with a sufficiently long enough usb cable I could chuck my phone into a side pocket of my tankbag, provided nothing fouled.
