Can an extra inch can make all the difference?

Post by Dave »

Today was the first run on my Big Mans Wanger with the newly fitted bar risers.

All felt good after fitting and on the initial low speed bimble, but today after a couple of miles I realised that the levers were just not in the right place for me, so I returned home to adjust.

A few minutes later and all torqued up, I was on my way again.

This time all felt just right, the small height difference had the desired effect of giving a more upright riding position and a noticeable increase of wind loading when doing about 59 mph, which were my reasons for fitting the risers.

I think during the initial test run I was probably assessing the change too much, but today when I was just riding the incorrect ergonomics became obvious.

That extra inch made all the difference.
