Yes, look on the supermoto website as there are pictures posted up.
Looks strange what they have done at the top corner and it looks like they have used the overbanding for the new tarmac :angryfire

Please tell me that aint the fast, sideways (playing with the limits of grip at 65mph) uphill section after the start/ Finish line?

You shower of C**TS, that was one of the best parts of the KART track. We used to race up there on opposite lock where only pussies backed off the gas, one mistake and you`re into avoiding action at 65mph. Real fun!

And yes the tossers have used overbanding, not good for karts but i guess the bikes might suffer more offs - might teach them not to F**K with what wasn`t broken. For the first time in my life i`m pissed off at the influence of bikers. Kart track before Super Motos.

Cant beleive they have left the overbanding on,couldnt they skim the excess off, looks like a Gypo job, maybe once there has been traffic on it it will improve ? Are they just going to use that section for the supermotos and put tyre barrriers up for the Karts

Woooo, I think it was the head Kart boy that wanted to change the track with no influence from us, we only needed to put up the banks round the side and extra offroad section with no changes required for the tarmac. I preferred the old track as well.

Well what a weekend. Turned up early on Sat for the trackday to find the paddock pretty much full already. Some serious bits of kit going about with mechainics etc. All I could stare at was the blokes opposite girlfriend though, she was lovely :log :freebird

Anyway, pretty much the norm on Sat but we only ran one dirt section. Nice and dry so no problems although the dirt was very dusty and you couldnt see a thing when following somone. Im needing to practice some clutch control or get a slipper clutch as the rear is bouncing like mad going into corners. Camped on Saturday and a few beers. Was a really good laugh with the English guys that were up. One guy had even come up from the Channel Islands :eek
Woke on Sunday with a tiny bit of drizzle. We were out first for 7min Practice at which point I came in as did a few others. The bikes were still going round 5min later and it turned out that the qualifying was combined with practice. We did get a 10min qualifying session after the confusion but by that time the rain was on. Managed to qualify 24th out of 26 runners. Not the best but not last.

I'll say at this point that my main objective was to not finish last in the races.

Race 1 - By this time it was well and truely wet. I got a good start and made up 4-5 places. Held onto them and I think I passed one more. Was really starting to get confident however abou 3/4's of the way through the race one of the leaders smacked into me at the top of the berm taking out my bars. I fell ~6ft face first onto the dirt and the bike stalled. I lost 2 laps trying to get the thing started again but managed to finish with bent bars. I was raging but came in 2nd last.

Race 2 - By this time it was raining very heavily and the dirt sections were unbelievably slippy (clay type soil). Again I got a good start and made 4-5 places. But going into the dirt I could see a thing so the goggles were lobbed. Good battle with a guy but I couldnt see a thing when right behind him. There was quite a few crashes on the first few laps so I must have made up a afew more places when coming into the 1st dirt section a guy lost in front of me. I tried to go up the bank to aviod but the front just slipped away and I hit the bank. Quickly pick the bike up and set of again only loosing a few spaces. Steady pace for the next few laps and looking at possibly 17th or 18th when I lost the front going into the 2nd dirt section. The bike fell on top and I couldnt get up so lost about another lap on the leaders. Finished 21st though, not too bad after two falls.

Race 3 - I almost though about not going it as it was that bad. One or two of the guys didnt even start. Stalled on the start line so by the time I had started I lost 1/2 a lap. After 2 laps Id caught up and passed a few but I was taken out in the 2ns dirt by the same bloke. Picked the bike up, did onw more lap then decided to come in as it was like ice round thr whole track. I wasnt placed lat though as someone only did 3 laps and pulled in for the same reason.

All in all it was great fun and theres a heap of us going over to Ireland for the last round in Oct.

Heres a before and after of the bike to give you an idea of conditions

Here is a link for my gallery of photos from Saturday and Sunday. It's not too hard to guess which ones are which. http://www.aslq88.dsl.pipex.com/crail/index.html

Funny because I was thinking just that as I was going round the corner.

No.2 Winstanly backing it in even in the wet, pure class :freebird . Thing is he was just about as fast on the dirt as he was on the tarmac.
