Going by the footage of Rossi's rear tyre as the race progressed, I think Stoner would have edged ahead in the last few laps.
Still, best race I've seen in ages. Even all the F1 fans at work were raving about it!!
What a great day for armchair biking though-
BSB- 2 races Sykes has been much better since he dumped Hattie Jaques
WSB- 2 races Bayliss could race till he's 50 and still get top 10 finishes
MotoGP- 1 race Nuff said

Possibly, but we didn't see Stoner's tyre though did we? Could have been worse/same/better.

Re: Laguna Seca
Good point.
As Stoner was heading into the Corkscrew behind Rossi, most of the time his back wheel was in the air. Straight out of the Kevin Schwantz book of Late Braking. Wayne Rainey once said, when asked about Schwantz's late braking moves on him, "If he really wants it that bad, he can have it". Schwantz was asked how he judged how late he could brake. He said " Well, If I can see God, I back off"
