Bike Down.. :(
Hey folks, managed to down my bike at craigellachie (on the a95) this afternoon, I am fine but the bikes right side radiator is crumpled along with some cosmetic damage etc.
Luckily a local chap let me store the bike at his address until i can recover it. Can any one recommend any ideas on recovery, I myself am from aberdeen but have no access to a trailer / van
Since im in aberdeen and the bikes is over 85 miles away i dont know if it will be best to call a recovery service??
Insurance is on 3rd party etc so its going to be solo affair i fear.
Any thoughts are welcome!
A massive thanks to the guys on the ride out today for keeping my safe and sane and there expert advise! Special thanks to Zax who got me home 2 up and didnt mind me sobbing on his shoulder all the way home :D
thanks
Andy

Re: Bike Down.. :(
Bummer mate, is this your first off? If so get back on a bike as soon as you can and get some confidence back. Mate of mine dropped his first bike early on as well, didn't ride for months, zero confidence, but get back on as soon as you can and you'll be fine.
Horrible feeling but you're OK, that's the main thing. Bikes can be fixed.
But ye'll be sore tomorrow. Go have a dram or five.
PS got a VFR Haynes manual if you want it, drop me a PM

Re: Bike Down.. :(
Sorry to hear about your off, especially so early on. How did it happen? I take you couldn't limp the bike back home?
At least your physically ok and just have a bruised ego... I know it is of little conciliation but the bike can be fixed. Look at ebay for used parts or you could always get panels fixed and resprayed.
Not sure about delivery, hope someone can help you out as the usual AA/RAC types will charge you an arm and leg.
If you ever need any help wrenching let me know.

Fixation on a chevron sign and a square block bollard running along the side of the road, while taking a shaky line into the bend I guess... the more i looked at what i didn't want to hit... BAM...
Was lucky I was with the bunch of folks I was with to pick me up, dust me off and take give me a ride back into the town!
Hasn't stopped my enthusiasm just hope i can mend the viffer and get it up and running ready for some more good weather :)

Was a bit worried when nobody appeared when we stopped.
Very glad that you are ok though, bloody shame about your bike but it's fixable.
Was very nice to meet you and the other guys today, take care and i hope the bruises aren't too bad :)

Re: Bike Down.. :(
Thanks folks, Bike got home at 11pm. I will assess the damage tomorrow..
Thanks for the well wishing, its appreciated. now to source some parts and get reading those Haynes manuals!!
I will be looking for some garage space in Aberdeen where I can assess the damage and work on it (will probably create a separate post) if any knows anywhere I can rent for a short period of time please let me know!
