NEW M/C SERVICE CENTRE FOR ABERDEEN...??

Post by dino#70 »

I have it on good authority that Aberdeen may be getting a new motorcycle service centre.
It is meant to have some good financial backing and if it goes ahead should be run VERY professionally with the priority being customer satisfaction........( Now theres a welcome and refreshing change in Aberdeen!!!) ;)
The likely place for this is to be in one of the arches at the bottom of South Collage STD. I hear The centre is to provide much needed service facilities in Aberdeen, catering for all types of motorcycles along with MOTs, tyre supply and fitting and even the posiblity of a Dyno and tuning services (to be confirmed)!!
i believe there is to be two full time mechanics
Sounds great if its true and could only be a good thing for the average biker in and around the north east.
More info to come as i hear about it ..... :2up :2up :2up

You sure you aint getting mixed up with Shirtlifters ?

They use a couple of Arches down there.

Be nice if there was someone else but knowing the 'cartel' in Aberdeen they probably wouldn't last long !!

Call me cynical if you want !

Hi Russ,
Just to make you aware, the new venture is in no way connected with either of the shops in exsistance resulting in an increase in choice for the North East biker!
This new service centre (if it goes ahead) may be new on the scene but it is to be created and funded by two enthusiastic bikers for bikers (quite possibly through bitter experience) . I for one hope that it does go ahead as the plans the guys have for their new business sound very refreshing for the area. ;)

I would imagine he has something to do with it.
Remember Ducati in Dyce etc, etc.
And i would imagine the same mechanic. :2up

I am sure the guys would be able to help you with that.
Their hourly rate is to be approx £40 per hour (to be confirmed)....
FYI,
Their entry date has been slightly held up due to a new fire door being installed to comply with new fire regs. They get entry 11th June now, planning to be up and running by the end of that month.

Hope that helps.... :2up

Good question
There aren't many independent car garages that offer loan cars while your car is in getting a service so I wouldn't expect an independendent bike garage to be offering the same. Not unless you are happy with them passing the overhead costs onto you in their labour rates.

It'll be Shanks Pony or the bus.

Hi Guys,
Just to quickly answer some questions.
Firstly,
No immediate plans to provide courtesy bikes , not to say that this will always be the case. As the business grows and customers request courtesy bikes then funds may be set aside for this. However, the guys were careful to choose a site ( South Collage STD) within easy reach of main public transport, this was manditiory in their plans to keep customer disruption to a minimum.

Secondly,
Yes, the technicans to be in place will be time served and qualified motorcycle techs.

One tech is confirmed , :2up
second to be confirmed :???

Hi guys,
Just to address to the point made regarding staff.
The guys know only too well that your business stands and falls on the reputation and abilities of your staff, as such they are actively looking to secure two technicians who will compliment and grow their business while providing an excellent level of service to their respective customers.
The staff in question will be anounced as and when they are close to opening allowing the technicians involved ample time to inform their present employers of their intentions to leave.
I again can only stress that these guys are putting their life savings into this project and want only the best for themselves and their customers , hiring substandard staff is not an option.

Keys for the new site are being handed over today!! :2up
