Bit icy today, I found out while riding to work

The road conditions caught me out this morning.
A tropical +5 deg C at my home, no sign of ice or frost, so I took the bike again.
After a handful of progressive miles, while riding downhill I noticed some stuff on the middle third of my lane.
Strange I thought, does not look like salt/grit...oh bugger I thought while gently fettling the brakes and smoothly down changing.
A nice consistent coating of frost where previous tyre tracks had not crossed.
Some black ice where previous tyre tracks had crossed...FFS
Then half a mile on the mirrors, screen and visor started misting up...shame that did not happen a mile sooner.
Then the air temp gauge started to fall, hovering between zero and +1 all the way to Aberdeen.
At lunchtime I visited the Westhill service station...and there is still frost in the car park.
Looks like I will be washing the bike tonight so it can stay parked up for a few days until things warm up a few degrees.
